Following an affair with the foreign minister’s mistress, MI6 spy Andy Osnard is reassigned to Panama, where he meets Harry Pendel, tailor to the elite of Panama. Pendel has kept his criminal background secret from his wife and children, and is happily playing the part of a family man.

Aware that Pendel’s shop is in debt, Osnard offers to help if Pendel will give him information about Panama City’s elite. Pendel agrees, but not content with tailoring clothes, he begins to do the same to his stories …
